UNT doctoral music student receives Fulbright-Hays fellowship to research mariachi in Mexico

<p>José R. Torres-Ramos, University of North Texas College of Music doctoral student, has received a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship to study mariachi in Mexico for a year. He is the first UNT Ph.D. student in ethnomusicology to earn this honor.</p>

UNT to offer world’s first music doctoral degree in performing arts health

<p>The University of North Texas College of Music will begin offering the world’s first Ph.D. in music with a concentration in performing arts health in fall 2018. The doctoral degree will focus on hearing, vocal, musculoskeletal and psychological health of musicians and other performing artists.</p>

<p>University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design’s Lauren Cross, lecturer in interdisciplinary art and design studies, and art education doctoral student Ellie Ivanova were selected to be 2018 visiting artists for the Dallas Museum of Art. The Center for Creative Connections – or C3 – invites artists from a variety of disciplines to participate in the development and facilitation of educational programs and spaces at the Dallas Museum of Art.</p>
