UNT on the Square exhibition features photographs of family living in unique East Texas community

<p>The exhibition <em>The Upshaws of County Line </em>follows one family from everyday events, such as a game of dominos, to important milestones such as births and funerals. But what makes the Upshaws unique is where they lived — County Line, a freedom colony in East Texas formed in the 1870s by newly freed slaves on land that they owned.</p>

High school students' aviation career plans take flight at UNT, TCC Camp

<p><span>High school students will get a jumpstart on careers in aviation next week during the DFW ACE (Aviation Career Education Academy) Camp, which gives high school students interested in aviation and aerospace an introduction to the high-demand industry. The camp will be held June 12-16. Registration is still underway. </span><br /><span> </span></p>

UNT demonstrates first ever drone provided cell service for disaster response

<p>When disasters like tornadoes and hurricanes strike, they often take down the technology emergency workers desperately need to keep in contact — cellphone service. Now a professor at the University of North Texas is working to make sure those first responders can get that vital access through an airborne communication system.</p>
