Air Force members pursuing doctoral degrees at UNT using education to better military logistics

<p>Air Force Lt. Col. John Dickens and Maj. Aaron Glassburner will both soon add Ph.D. to their already impressive credentials. The two service members are completing their doctoral degrees at UNT as part of a unique program with the Air Force Institute of Technology that provides professional training and continuing education opportunities for service members.</p>

<p>Researchers in the University of North Texas College of Engineering’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering have found a way to create an ultralight, highly heat-resistant, magnesium-based material by engineering bonds at an atomic level. Their research has been published in the “Nature Communications” journal.</p>

UNT Speech and Hearing Center offering scholarships for spring semester children's reading clinic

<p><span style="color:#000000;">The scholarships, provided by the center through an award by the DFW Scottish Rite Association, each total up to $1,000 per semester and will provide full or partial support for one-on-one clinical instruction for children and other therapy services.</span></p>

<p>Award-winning playwright and director Moisés Kaufman will serve as 2017-18 artist-in-residence for the Institute for the Advancement of the Arts at the University of North Texas, bringing in the collaborative process that he created for such plays as “The Laramie Project<em>.</em>”</p>
