Experimenting with music accelerates child development in UNT’s Early Childhood Music program

<p>Studies have shown that the first five years of a child's life are fundamentally important to their growth and learning achievement. Nurturing musical development early maximizes children’s musical learning opportunities and provides them with the readiness needed for music instruction later in life. The University of North Texas College of Music's Early Childhood Music Program exposes young children – infants to age 5 – to a rich, music-filled environment.</p>

UNT dean named to prestigious national arts board

<p>The National Association of Schools of Art and Design has named Greg Watts, dean of the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design, as their accreditation commission chair and a member of the executive committee and board of directors. NASAD is an organization of more than 360 accredited educational institutions that establishes national standards for art and design undergraduate and graduate degrees.</p>

UNT fall commencement set for Dec. 15 and 16

<p>More than 3,400 students are expected to receive degrees from the University of North Texas during fall 2017 commencement ceremonies. Ceremonies will be held <strong>Dec. 15 and 16</strong> (Friday and Saturday) . And unique this year, graduates traveling to Louisiana to cheer on the Mean Green in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl are invited to participate in a special UNT commencement ceremony in New Orleans.</p>

UNT faculty and alumni nominated for Grammy Awards

<p>University of North Texas faculty and alumni are part of projects that have received nominations in 10 categories for the 60th annual Recording Academy Grammy Awards. Nominations, which include UNT alumna Maren Morris, who was nominated this year in the Best Country Solo Performance category for “I Could Use a Love Song,” were announced on Nov. 28.</p>
