UNT announces 2017 Innovator Award winners

A University of North Texas faculty member, a graduate student and an undergraduate student have been recognized as UNT's 2017 Innovator Award winners.
This is the second year the Office of Research and Innovation has recognized faculty and students for finding creative solutions to today's most pressing issues. The awards include cash awards or scholarships.

Environmental Protection Agency recognizes UNT among nation's leading green power users

DENTON (UNT), Texas — This summer the University of North Texas ranked 11th on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Top 30 College and University list of the largest green power users from the Green Power Partnership. The ranking marked the school’s first appearance in the top 11 spots.

Famed composer to join UNT College of Music

DENTON (UNT), Texas – He is best known for his many memorable and award-winning film scores including “Silverado,” “Tombstone,” “The Rescuers Down Under,” “Miracle on 34th Street” and “Harry and the Hendersons,” among others. “JAG,” “Tiny Toon Adventures” and “Dinosaurs” all grace his television theme repertoire. Now, Bruce Broughton, a 10-time Emmy Award winner, will be joining the University of North Texas College of Music as the 2017-18 composer-in-residence.

NASA's Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Lesa B. Roe, named sole finalist for UNT System Chancellor position

August 17, 2017 – (DALLAS) The University of North Texas System Board of Regents has selected Lesa B. Roe, Acting Deputy Administrator for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), as the sole finalist for the position of Chancellor. Ms. Roe's selection was announced August 17 during the UNT System Board of Regents meeting at the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth.
