UNT faculty and alumni nominated for Grammy Awards

<p>University of North Texas faculty and alumni are part of projects that have received nominations in 10 categories for the 60th annual Recording Academy Grammy Awards. Nominations, which include UNT alumna Maren Morris, who was nominated this year in the Best Country Solo Performance category for “I Could Use a Love Song,” were announced on Nov. 28.</p>

UNT professor awarded $900,000 Air Force grant to create new aircraft alloys

<p>The Air Force Office of Scientific Research has awarded University Distinguished Research Professor Raj Banerjee from the University of North Texas College of Engineering and his research group a $900,000 grant. The funds will be used to develop and investigate multi-phase high entropy alloys – also referred to as complex-concentrated alloys – that are expected to revolutionize aircraft construction.</p>

UNT associate dean named to board of prestigious women’s engineering organization

<p>The Women in Engineering ProActive Network has named Nandika D’Souza, the University of North Texas College of Engineering’s associate dean for undergraduate studies, to its board of directors. The organization’s mission is “to propel higher education to increase the number and advance the prominence of diverse communities of women in engineering.” D’Souza was appointed based on her dedication, leadership and advocacy.</p>

UNT debaters take top prize, win three divisions at Texas Intercollegiate Forensic Association Championship

<p>The championship tournament included 14 divisions. UNT students accumulated enough points for wins in preliminary rounds and participation in elimination rounds to win the award for best overall performance by a team.</p>

UNT’s Texas Fashion Collection features ensembles along British art in new exhibition

<p>The University of North Texas’ Texas Fashion Collection is part of a new exhibition that forms a link between high fashion and British art.</p>
<p>“On Bodies: Highlights from The Goss-Michael Foundation and the UNT Texas Fashion Collection” will run through Feb. 2 (Friday) at the Goss-Michael Foundation in Dallas.</p>

UNT earns international MarCom awards

<p>The University of North Texas Division of University Relations, Communications and Marketing received several MarCom Awards for excellence in promotional materials. The materials were prepared to promote UNT's range of innovative academic, research and student programs, as well as the university's value to the North Texas region and state.</p>

UNT art, design faculty show off studio practices at UNT on the Square exhibition

<p>The annual College of Visual Arts and Design Faculty and Staff Exhibition will give students and the greater Denton community a close look at the creative processes of teachers at the University of North Texas.</p>
<p>The exhibition will run until Dec. 13 (Wednesday) at UNT on the Square.</p>
