UNT graduate student’s ethereal work wins $20,000 grand prize from VSA Emerging Young Artists Competition

<p>In the photograph “Insight,” the eye of University of North Texas graduate student Trinity Kai peers from a bundle of fabric, looking straight at the viewer. That photo represents many things to Kai. It touches upon her philosophy of life. It was shot from a lensless camera that she prefers for its craftsmanship. And it won her the $20,000 grand prize from the VSA Emerging Young Artists Competition, a contest devoted to people with disabilities.</p>

UNT faculty studying recovery of smaller Gulf Coast cities after Harvey

<p>The research has initially focused on gathering places where residents of Aransas, Nueches and Refugio counties have found resources and emotional support as their communities recover from Harvey's destruction.</p>

Arthur Miller’s classic “The Crucible,” to be presented by UNT Nov. 9-12, remains as relevant as ever

<p>“The Crucible” takes place during the 1600s, but the subject matter is just as relevant today.</p>
<p>The University of North Texas’ Department of Dance and Theatre will present Arthur Miller’s classic play at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9-11 (Thursday-Saturday) and 2 p.m. Nov. 11-12 (Saturday-Sunday) at the University Theater, in the Radio, Television, Film and Performing Arts Building. </p>

Author of book on fight for marriage equality, plaintiffs to speak at UNT on the Square

<p>The book, "Accidential Activists: Mark Phariss, Vic Holmes and Their Fight for Marriage Equality," was published by the UNT Press one year after author David Collins won the first-place Book Manuscript prize at UNT's Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference.</p>
