National Science Foundation grant to fund drone advances at UNT

DENTON (UNT), Texas – The National Science Foundation has awarded Shengli Fu, University of North Texas College of Engineering associate professor and chair of electrical engineering, a $250,000 grant for drone research and development. The grant is part of $1 million that has been divided between UNT, the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi and the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.

UNT student is first woman to win IBM's Master the Mainframe coding contest

The first woman to win IBM’s Master the Mainframe challenge for the North American region is a senior at the University of North Texas. College of Business student Anna McKee won first place in the final and most difficult portion of IBM’s contest, making this the second year in a row that a UNT student has won.

U.S. News & World Report ranks several UNT graduate programs among nation’s best

The University of North Texas’ Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) program specialty in local government management ranked first in Texas, eighth nationwide and fifth among public universities in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 list of Best Graduate Schools – category public affairs.
